I’m not usually one to be the bearer of bad news. But it’s a fact. Summer is over.

Finito. Done.

It’s not been too bad though really, and I mean if you got to go abroad, it just pops the icing on the cake– Pre Brexit travellers even got the cherry on top with the exchange rates they got.

As if it’s not hard enough to come home to mounds of washing, junk mail and a thousand answering machine messages form PPI robots, you also have a loads of shrapnel coins that will sit in your drawers for years to come. Probably till you next move house.

I’m being totally honest! Who actually remembers those coins next time they go away?!…

The remnants from Spain ’06 are still sat in that one drawer in your kitchen that’s full of pen lids and cotton threads, with the odd battery which you aren’t sure is dead or not.

That being said, you wouldn’t miss it.

So why not give it to people who would? Why not donate your foreign coins, raise money, feel good and not have to sacrifice a penny for it (strictly true as it won’t be in British currency)?!

That’s what we are doing. All proceeds of which will be donated to Case.

They are a local charity based in Hull who are dedicated to improving the life choices for people with Learning Disabilities through the provision of high quality Training, Support and Employment opportunities. The work they do is fantastic!

At Harris Lacey and Swain we are having a Foreign Coin Amnesty!!

29th November 2016, 9-5, come down, donate some coins and have a coffee with us. There will be cakes and bakes on sale and live tweeting about the distance your coins are going!!

We need you to help make this work.

Let’s see what change you change can do!
